           New Menu Items at Burger King®

The home of the Whopper® just got better. I am not one who loves to eat hamburgers and fries very often as the fat in them hurt my stomach. I was thrilled to find out Burger King® recently added more menu items. The best part, is that the new items make it easier for somebody like me to find health conscious choices.

My favorite additions to the new menu are the garden fresh salads.
Chicken BLT Garden Fresh Salad
Chicken, Apple and Cranberry Garden Fresh Salad 
Chicken Caesar Garden Fresh Salad

I had the opportunity to try the Chicken, Apple and Cranberry Garden Fresh Salad with the tendergrill® chicken and I have to say that it definitely lives up to the hype. I've tried many fast food salads and this one is destined to become my one of my favorites. I was pleasantly surprised to find the salad also contained chunks of blue cheese which added a nice contrast to the sweetness from the apples and cranberries. The lettuce was fresh with a nice mix a romaine and other lettuce. I didn't use the package of croutons, but they are an option. I did use about 1/2 the package of apple cider vinaigrette dressing and I liked it. The serving size was perfect for me. I was plenty full after eating the entire salad and wondered if I would be able to finish the next part of my meal.

My Burger King® lunch

My meal included one of the real fruit smoothies which are also a new menu item. The flavors include:
      Tropical Mango 
      Strawberry Banana
I'll admit, it doesn't take much to get me to like a smoothie and the Strawberry Banana smoothie was no exception. It was thick, but not too thick to drink with a straw. It also had a nice blend of strawberry, banana taste with one flavor not overpowering the other. It's a great option as the weather warms up. I highly recommend the smoothie for a great breakfast alternative or a midday snack as it was quite filling. I can't wait to go back to try the tropical mango.


Other new menu items include:
New Snack Wraps  
    Honey Mustard Crispy Chicken Snack Wrap and Ranch Crispy Chicken Snack Wrap 
New Crispy Chicken Strips
Rich and smooth Frappés
      Mocha Frappé  and Caramel Frappé 

After I finished my meal, I couldn't take one more bite to try anything else. I would love to try the other two salads on a return visit. The new menu items definitely makes me more likely to visit Burger King than I have in the past. Now I can feel confident there are a wider variety of options for those of us watching what we eat.
