 If you're like me, you want to save energy and help the planet, but sometimes get too busy to think about it. I didn't realize that heating the water for laundry uses 80% of the energy associated with washing clothes. That is, until I heard that Tide was sponsoring the Take a Load off Sweepstakes. In honor of Earth Day, Tide is getting the word out that washing clothes in cold water can help save the environment by using less energy. They have already educated me.

I always thought you needed hot water to get clothes, especially whites, completely clean. Tide Coldwater was developed to combat that problem. I didn't even realize a detergent existed that would address the coldwater issue. Now, I can't wait to try it.
